This year, the region submitted to the competition a literary and local history project dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of the Pechora storyteller Maremyana Golubkova, as well as the most striking regional projects in the field of supporting reading and literature. This was reported by the press service of the district administration.

In honor of the big anniversary, the Museum Association, the Ethnocultural Center of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the Nenets Central Library have developed a large program of events: a scientific and practical conference, an exhibition, a competition of literary performers, a festival of Pechora culture “Maremyanin Day”, an open competition of translators based on the tales of Maremyana Golubkova, a youth battle “Rap epics” and the opening of the “Maremyanina Trail” tourist route as part of the Pustozersk Day.

The results of the competition will be announced in November. The winner will be awarded the title “Literary Flagship of Russia”. Regions that have previously become winners and have been among the top twenty participants three times over the past five years will be given the status of “Territory of Books and Reading.”
