As reported by the Department of Construction, Housing and Public Utilities, Energy and Transport of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, in order to improve road safety, work continues to install projected pedestrian crossings on regional roads.

A new government contract worth 4.9 million rubles was concluded with M-IT NAO LLC. According to it, 40 projectors will be installed at 19 pedestrian crossings in the city.

— Currently, all the necessary materials have been purchased, they are being delivered to the region, installation will begin in the near future. The work is planned to be completed by mid-October, the department reported.

The first projection pedestrian crossing appeared in Naryan-Mar in the New Village microdistrict on Yubileinaya Street at the turn to S.N. Kalmykova. Its installation and software development for it was carried out by M-ITI NAO LLC, commissioned by the Centralized Construction Contractor NJSC within the framework of the national project “Safe Quality Roads”.

The crossing recognizes a pedestrian who wants to cross the road, turns on the lights, and the “Pedestrian Crossing” sign and the “Attention Pedestrian” sign light up. In the dark, this is also supplemented by additional lighting and a projection of the pedestrian crossing onto the road.

Thanks to the projected pedestrian crossing, the driver will be able to see from afar that someone has started to cross the road. This is especially convenient in the dark.
