The Minister of Defense, Margaret Robleshas assured that Spain will not participate in a possible European Union mission in the Red Sea against attacks by the Houthis of Yemen.

Robles has advanced this decision to journalists after the European Union has proposed a specific mission to patrol the Red Sea, although, according to the minister, it has not yet been defined, but in any case it would be “non-executive.”

The minister has made it clear that Spain is not receiving “pressure” from anyone to make one decision or another in this matter.

This Thursday US military forces, along with the United Kingdom and support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada and the Netherlandss, they carried out attacks against several targets in Yemen used by the Houthi rebels.
