On September 28, 2023, under the auspices of the Operational Headquarters, a special tactical exercise was held in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug to suppress a terrorist act on the territory of Pomorneftegazgeofizika JSC.
In accordance with the plan, the mock terrorists, as part of a sabotage and reconnaissance group, planned to commit a terrorist act at the specified industrial facility. The criminals entered the territory of the enterprise and took some of the staff hostage. Threatening reprisals against detainees and blowing up a warehouse of explosive material, the attackers put forward unacceptable political and economic demands.
The operational headquarters in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug made a decision to conduct a counter-terrorism operation, as a result of which the activities of the conditional DRG were suppressed.
During the tactical and special exercise, in conditions as close as possible to reality, the procedure for interdepartmental interaction was worked out, as well as the stages of alerting a group of forces and assets of the regional operational headquarters.
The event was attended by representatives of regional divisions of the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Russian Guard, as well as the Administration of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
