How reported on the page of the Nenets Museum of Local Lore, feeders must be prepared in advance, before the onset of cold weather. Hungry and weak birds often freeze.
The time of abundance of food for birds ends with the fall of snow, which covers the ground and tree branches. In such conditions, it takes a lot of energy to obtain insects or plant grains, and the short daylight hours limit feeding time, which is why it is so important to feed the birds in the winter months.
To help wintering birds, the Russian Bird Conservation Union holds the “Feed the Birds!” campaign every year. As part of it, conversations, quizzes, festivals and much more are held in all corners of our country.
This year the Museum Association of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug is announcing a bird feeder competition.
— And not just a competition, but an online competition. This format will allow all residents of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug to take part in the event. The more people take part in the competition, the more birds we will save. Remember, they need our help! – noted in the museum.
To participate, you need to make a feeder, place it outside, take a photo with it and write a short history of its creation.
Send application with a photo and story, you can email email@example.com until November 20 inclusive.
