From October 2 to October 5, the first group of 38 activists from the region visited St. Petersburg as part of the “Flavors and Tastes of the Northern Capital” tour.
— This was one of the most unusual and interesting trips. Its goal is to encourage leaders in the region. There were many active guys in our delegation, each was a leader in a certain field of activity. And I was glad to be among them. It was more than a journey. They prepared a very interesting excursion program for us. I myself lived in St. Petersburg for six years, but on the tour we were presented with information from different sides and told unusual facts about the history of the city,” Tatyana Lupandina, organizer of the Defrosting festival, shares her impressions of the trip.

The first part of the excursion was devoted to the history of perfumery. The young people attended an aroma performance from the Perfumers Guild, learned interesting facts related to perfumery, and tasted interesting aromas.
The guys consolidated their knowledge at the master class by trying to create their own unique perfume.
“It was great to hear what a scent is made of, where smells come from, and how they are found. We were told many interesting details, sometimes shocking, about simple and familiar aromas that we smell every day,” continues the trip participant.

From the world of aromas, travelers were transported to the world of tastes and became acquainted with the principles of the restaurant industry. They were told about organizing a restaurant, launching processes, equipment, marketing and management.
The acquaintance with the restaurant industry continued with a tasting of modern dishes at the site of the St. Petersburg premium restaurant.

— Of course, speaking about the tastes and aromas of St. Petersburg, we could not help but visit the famous Eliseev Merchants Store. We got acquainted with the history of the trading empire,” added Tatyana Lupandina.
