The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchezhas considered that this Thursday is “a historic day” for the European Union because the European Council has decided the opening of accession negotiations for Ukraine and Moldova.

Sánchez, who participates in the summit of leaders that adopted this decision in Brusselshas expressed his satisfaction for her in a message on social networks.

The Chief Executive has congratulated Ukraine and Moldova and has also highlighted the importance of having also recognized the status of candidate country for Georgia and the commitment to begin negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina. “The Twenty-Seven We recognize the effort that all of them are making”has underlined.

Sources from the Spanish delegation have highlighted the message that is especially sent to Ukraine support its population in the difficult times they are experiencing and in the face of the position and statements of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.
