Sergey Mazaev hospitalized before concert: what happened to the singer, details

The leader of the Russian rock band “Moral Code”, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Sergey Mazaev was urgently taken to intensive care before a concert in Svetlogorsk. What is wrong with the singer, what is his condition now?

What is known about the singer’s hospitalization
The Telegram channel Mash reported about the artist’s hospitalization. His group “Moral Code” was supposed to perform today, July 4, at 19:30 at the Yantar-Hall Variety Theater. The concert had to be cancelled.

“The Moral Code group was supposed to perform today at 19:30. But before the start, the 64-year-old vocalist felt ill. He was urgently hospitalized in Kaliningrad,” the channel’s publication says .

According to Mash, Mazaev was first taken to intensive care with an acute attack of pancreatitis, and then transferred to the surgery department. Doctors will examine the singer for at least several days, the journalists stated.

The artist’s wife Galina confirmed to REN TV that he is in the hospital under the supervision of specialists.

“Already better. Under the supervision of doctors. Everything is under control, everything is fine,” said the musician’s wife.

What is the health of 64-year-old Mazaev?
In October 2023, it became known that Mazaev had been diagnosed with a benign tumor. The artist later said that he had postponed the operation to remove it until January in order to continue working during the New Year holidays.

“I’m preparing for the operation. The rehabilitation period is long – a month and a half. I will have the operation at the beginning of January, there is a lot of work now. In the near future we will participate in a large New Year’s campaign, we have a lot of invitations,” he told the portal absatz.media.

What Mazaev said about the SVO and Ukrainians
In December 2023, Mazaev performed for military personnel undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at Branch No. 8 of the Burdenko Main Military Clinical Hospital. The concert was organized by employees of the central office of the FSSP of Russia.

“The fighters warmly greeted the artists, applauded and sang along with them. The guys received a boost of energy and kind words of support from the masters of art and employees of the enforcement agency,” the FSSP of Russia reported on its VKontakte page.

In 2014, Mazaev noted in an interview with rg.ru that the Moral Code group had stopped being invited to Ukraine a couple of years before Maidan. The musician then expressed regret that “so much nonsense” was coming from that country.
