fine up to 15 thousand rubles for an incorrect driver’s license

How choosing the wrong gearbox can result in a fine of up to 15 thousand rubles

A representative of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate reminded the Naavtotrasse portal in an interview that drivers who drive a car with a manual transmission without the appropriate license may face a fine of up to 15 thousand rubles.

The situation is as follows: when studying at a driving school, you can choose the type of gearbox on which you will be trained. If the training took place on a car with a manual transmission, the driver receives a universal license that allows you to drive vehicles with both a manual and an automatic transmission.

However, if the driver learned to drive on a car with an automatic transmission, then he is prohibited from driving a car with a manual transmission. Violation of this rule is punishable by a fine.

In accordance with the provisions of Article 12.7 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation, driving a car with a manual transmission without the appropriate permit is punishable by a fine of 5 to 15 thousand rubles.

It was previously reported that the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate may refuse to register vehicles for which the recycling fee has not been paid in full. The corresponding bill concerning the registration of vehicles was adopted by the State Duma on June 18 in the second reading.

Clarifications

Manual transmission gearbox – a gearbox whose gear shift drive consists only of mechanical devices. Usually in everyday speech, mechanical means a gearbox in which gear shifting is entirely entrusted to the driver, who controls the gearbox by means of a manual or foot mechanical drive. Structurally, in the overwhelming majority of cases, it is based on gear transmissions, since only they allow for the maximum simplification of gear shifting devices.
