Sales in the first half of this year: 9.1 billion won… highest ever

Jeju Air has been operating the ‘Holiday Inn Express Seoul Hongdae’ (hereinafter referred to as Hongdae Hotel) at Hongik University Station in Seoul since 2019. Today marks the 6th anniversary of its opening.

Based on excellent accessibility and reasonable rates, Hongdae Hotel successfully turned a profit in 2019, just one year after opening, and recorded its highest ever sales of 16.4 billion won last year.

In the first half of this year, sales reached 9.13 billion won, up 30% from the same period last year, breaking the all-time record.

The hotel’s representative performance indicator, the room occupancy rate, was 93.3% from January to August this year, the highest rate since opening.

The proportion of foreign guests, who are the main customers, is also increasing. The proportion of foreigners, which recorded 83.1% in 2019, fell to single digits in 2021, but as of the end of last month, it recorded the highest proportion ever at 90.5%.

A Jeju Air official said, “The Hongdae hotel has gotten on a stable track,” and added, “We will actively seek to attract foreign tourists through various promotions and customized services linked to airlines.”
