Palestinian Prime Minister Mohamed Shtayeh said this Sunday that an agreement with Hamas for Palestinian unity would be possible, but as long as they follow the principles of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), which are “very clear.”

“If Hamas is willing to seek a common phase with us, we are willing. If it is not, it is another story. But we need Palestinian unity,” he said in a panel at the Munich Security Conference on the future of relations between Israel and Palestine.

Shtayeh recalled Russia’s invitation to an upcoming meeting of all Palestinian groups where talks could take place.
