Donald Tusk, new Prime Minister of Poland

The Polish Parliament elected this Monday the leader of the opposition, Donald Tuskwho leads Civic Platformas the new prime minister after the investiture of the ultra-conservative Mateusz Morawiecki failed due to lack of support.

Civic Platform won 157 deputies in the last elections, which, added to the 65 from Third Way and the 26 from La Izquierda, have managed to unseat Morawiecki and his ultra-conservative policies.

For her part, the president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsolahas stressed on the aforementioned social network that he hopes to work with Tusk, who is a “firm believer” in the European Union, “for a prosperous Poland and a stronger Europe.”
