An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 took place this Thursday at the southwest Japanwhich led the country’s Meteorological Agency (JMA) to activate a tsunami warning of up to one meter in the Pacific coasts of the region.
The quake struck at 4:43 p.m. local time (07:43 GMT) at a depth of 30 kilometers off the coast of Miyazaki prefecture on the southern island of Kyushu, the JMA said.
